With gym subscription fees sometimes becoming too high, I used to wonder why people are not making the most out of it and go working out every single day. If you don't have any basic knowledge about getting a good body, it's natural think that you can only make the most out of your money if you are able to work on all of the gym equipment everyday. After all, that's what you pay for by becoming a member of the gym, right?

This knowledge sometimes becomes the reason why a lot of beginning gym addicts tend to work out too much and yet say that, after a month or so of continuous gym addiction, effects were still not very obvious. If you are working out every single day, you really won't get the large body that you want.

This is simply because your muscles grow and form the shape that you want it to take during your rests in between your workout sessions. This sounds counter-intuitive but this is actually the truth. The reason behind this is the simple fact that it is during the rest period when the muscles grow back as a response to the stresses it receives during workout. Without the appropriate rest period in between workouts, you deprive your muscles the chance to grow back and become firmer and larger.

In fact, working out too much can be dangerous to your health, as it leads to some disorders like anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating, which are all acquired from too much workout. You would think that you are becoming responsible for your health by working out a lot. You wouldn't know that it's a creeping disorder that should be stopped pronto.

So just how much workout does one need? It really varies from person to person. But from experience, people say that working out around 4 times a week, with about an hour or two each session is good enough. Do experiment and find out which configuration is most appropriate for you.
